Car life - REDUX!

Wow, its been a long time since I last updated, and now I dont have time to do a proper one.

On the 4th July this year I wrote this and saved it as a draft. The title is also from then.

>I just bought a Fiat Stilo. How cool am I?

Hmm, rock.

Anyways, since that entry about the films - remember that one? - I've watched Napoleon Dynamite and The Bourne Supremacy. That was a long time since. I'm not doing very well.

I really must try to leave it less time. I suck :(

Milk+

Helen recently started taking this stuff http://www.berocca.co.uk/ and I had a go on it today too, though I reckon it probably needs a few days worth before it kicks in. I was wondering whether it would be a good hangover cure. All that VitC cant make the headache/shakes/vomiting any worse, so I reckon its worth a pop.

The prince and the pauper

Damn, I'm so broke I think I may need to get a second job. How sucky is that? The problem is that we were living beyond our means for too long when I used to earn a pretty low salary - we built up debts that we have never reduced, let alone paid off. The knock on effect of paying so much interest and charges on loans, overdrafts, credit cards etc etc added to this has meant that since 2001 I have spent more than my monthly income every single month. Thats around 55 months of excess spending. Its scary when you put it into those terms.

Anyway, somethings got to give. There are 3 steps I think need to be taken to break this cycle.

1) Consolidate debts to ease interest/charges burden
2) Reduce spending
3) Increase income

I'll let you know what happens.

Car death

I crashed my car last week. It was a minor bump, yet the damage to my car was sufficient for it to be classed as beyond economical repair. I have to buy a new one now.

Wheeeeeeeeeee! At last, the required justification to get a new one. Excellent.

Well, after the insurance people have coughed up that is. Bah

Golf and beer.

I've had one game of golf (apart from playing Tiger Woods on the playstation), however I enjoyed it that much that I have obtained:

Set of golf clubs with bag.
Trolley.
Golf balls.
Shoes.

The only problem is that I wasnt very good at it. If you know anything about golf and I said that I did the 18 hole round coming out with a 89 handicap you'll understand quite how abysmal I was. I have been to the driving range several times with a mate and at least now feel that I can hit the ball straight with some loft, so I hit it farther than 30 yards per attempt. I'm just now waiting for the weather to improve some so I dont freeze my tits off.

Anyway, I've been really good so far this year on the beer front, no real attempt to get on the wagon or anything, I've just hardly touched alcohol since New Years. Total so far is one small bottle of french beer (the little 250ml stubby ones), one bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale and one glass of red wine. Jesus, even my Mum drinks more than that and she's practically tee-total. Helen on the other hand seems to be spiralling into some kind of Gin driven alcoholism. I keep telling her its making her aggressive but it seems to fall on deaf ears. To be fair, vodka causes the same effect in me so I guess its evening the score a little.
